Growing out of the Little Relics Repair and Custom Jewelry workshop, K & S brings decades of craftsmanship and attention to detail to a welcoming showroom space within Skalet Family Jewelers. Meet our master bench jewelers
Susan Rabinovitz — artisan, master bench jeweler, Midtowner, dog lover and mom — founded Little Relics more than 20 years ago, building the business through art festivals, studio residencies and persistent local craftwork into a thriving, hyper-local fine jewelry and repair shop. Beginning in a small studio at I and 21st Streets, Little Relics moved to 24th Street in 2018 and has continued to grow with its neighborhood, offering a carefully curated selection of unique, handcrafted gifts and art by local artisans to suit a range of tastes and budgets. Susan, a Graduate Jeweler Certified alumna of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, forges much of her work with hammer and flame, drawing spontaneous inspiration from Midtown architecture, flowers, and the accidental arrangements on her bench; her bold, abstract pieces channel influences from pre‑cubist artists like Joan Miró and Wassily Kandinsky.
Little Relics has serves as a workshop and teaching space, where she trains apprentices, fabricates custom commissions and wedding sets, and repairs treasured family jewels — combining traditional techniques with a personalized approach to meet each customer’s vision.
Katy Jayne is a bench jeweler and goldsmith with nearly 10 years’ experience in repairs, stone setting, custom design, fabrication, and production. Since 2022 she has served as Bench Jeweler and Studio Manager at Little Relics, running daily shop operations, supervising and training staff and apprentices, and ensuring all work meets the studio’s quality standards. She sets fancy stones, fabricates and solders, performs lost-wax casting and mold making, and plates in gold and rhodium. She started the casting department and handles projects from concept to final polish.
Before Little Relics, she ran Katy Jayne Jewelry for seven years, making custom pieces and managing client communication. She enjoys the mix of art and engineering in jewelry, solving problems at the bench, and mentoring new jewelers.
